I don’t know about you, but finding the perfect pair of trousers for me has been entirely by chance. Great through the leg, but the rise is too short. Perfect waist, but the pockets gape. Too high, too low, baggy around the bum… there’s always something.
I know there are a million options out there, but how many of us actually have the same proportions as the fit model they were designed on? A little longer here, shorter there, a different waist-to-hip ratio - it all makes a difference with trousers.
I’ve wanted to add trousers to our collection for ages, but kept putting it off. We only make to measure, so we don’t have racks of trouser samples in different sizes to send around New Zealand and overseas for fitting - and trousers really do need to be fitted properly.
So, for now, we’re keeping them local.
We’ve been making gorgeous cigar pants, oversized slouchy pleat-front trousers, jodhpurs, sharply cut tuxedo styles and wide-leg but high fashion drawstring versions for our Auckland clients - depending on what really suits them and how they like to wear them.
They require at least two fittings at our Herne Bay studio, but I think they’re worth the extra visits.
